Bromberg brilliant in win over Cardinals

David Bromberg led the Fort Myers Miracle past the Palm Beach Cardinals 6-1 Wednesday and into first place in the Florida State Legaue South standings. The Miracle also secured a series win with the victory.

Bromberg (1-0) got his first win of the year after pitching six innings and allowing just four hits and one earned run along with two walks and three strikeouts. After Bromberg, the bullpen threw three innings of scoreless relief – two from Spencer Steedley and one from Henry Arias.

The Miracle (8-4) were led by designated hitter Deibinson Romero (2-for-3) with a double and an RBI, and Rene Leveret, (1-for-3), who collected two RBI. Others collecting hits were Ben Revere, Steve Singleton, Chris Parmelee, Estarlin De Los Santos, and Chris Cates on a day when the Miracle drew five walks and scored six runs on eight hits.

The Miracle will go for the three-game sweep at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Hammond Stadium before setting out on the road Friday for a six-game road trip.
