Bishop Verot senior Brennan Melvin has made his college decision, signing a basketball scholarship with Fordham University Monday.

Melvin, a 6-foot-4 point guard, showcased his all-around skills in three seasons with the Vikings.

As a senior, he averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He set the school’s all-time record for both rebounds and assists and helped lead the Vikings to their first ever Class 3A Final Four berth.

“(Melvin) is a great player and great person, so it’s pretty exciting for him to have this opportunity,” Verot coach Matt Herting said.

Fordham, located in New York City, is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Melvin becomes the sixth Bishop Verot player to sign a Division I basketball scholarship in the last six years.
