Players reassigned to Blades
Forwards Brad Herauf and Yannick Tifu have been reassigned to the Florida Everblades by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced Monday. In addition, defenseman Matt Duffy has been reassigned to the club by the Rochester Americans of the AHL.
Herauf makes his return to the Everblades for the first time since he was sent to Albany Dec. 21. Herauf, who had two call-ups to Albany during the course of the season totaled four points and 116 penalty minutes in 37 games with the River Rats. The games were the first of his career at the AHL level. With the Everblades this season Herauf skated in 16 games tallying eight points (three goals, five assists).
Tifu rejoins the Everblades after finishing the regular season with 18 points in 37 games with the River Rats, spread out among three separate call-ups to Albany. Tifu recorded 33 points in 24 games with Florida this season.
The third member reassigned is Duffy who made his professional debut with the Everblades after skating in two games with the club in late March. Following his stint with the Everblades the rookie was re-called to Rochester where he finished out the regular season by playing in nine games, notching two goals and four assists. Duffy joined the professional ranks this season after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at the University of Maine.
The Everblades lead 2-0 in their best-of-seven playoff series against the Gwinnett Gladiators. The series resumes Thursday with Game 3 at Gwinnett.
