Firecats snag first win 32-27
ALBANY, NY – Quarterback Chris Wallace threw four touchdowns to Chris McKinney and rushed for another to lead the Florida Firecats to a 32-27 victory over the Albany Firebirds Friday night.
The Firecats got behind 14-0 in the opening quarter, then scored on two touchdown strikes to McKinney, but missed both PATs to trail 14-12.
A 40-yard field goal as time expired in the first half made it 17-12 Firebirds.
Wallace (15-30-4, 212 yards) and McKinney hooked up to give the Firecats their first lead of the game on another deep TD pass, but a third failed extra-point by Garrett Rivas made it 18-17. McKinney’s fourth TD catch expanded the Firecats’ lead to 25-17.
Wallace’s keeper from two yards out made it 32-20.
