Prep Report: Hunt leads Tritons’ rout

Mackenzie Hunt pitched a five-inning no-hit shutout and struck out 13 batters to lead Mariner to a 17-0 blowout win over Cypress Lake Wednesday.

Hunt also contributed at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple to lead a 17-hit assault that included 10 runs in the first inning. Hunt hit one batter and walked two to improve to 2-3 on the season.

Cody Sawyer contributed two doubles while Brooke Albert and Nikki Roderiques added two hits apiece for the Tritons.

The Tritons (6-4) play at crosstown rival Cape Coral Friday night.

Palmetto Ridge 2, Bishop Verot 1: Mike Osimers doubled and later scored the game-winning run on an error in the seventh inning to lift Palmetto Ridge over Bishop Verot.

The Vikings (4-7) were held to just three base hits, but were guilty of three defensive errors. The travel to Cardinal Mooney Friday.
