Prep Report: Baker girls fall 10-9 at Gulf Coast

3 min read

In search of their third win in four days, the Ida Baker Bulldogs had a rough defensive outing Friday night in a 10-9 loss at Gulf Coast in a high school softball game.

The Bulldogs (6-3), who defeated Cypress Lake and Fort Myers earlier in the week, were plagued by seven errors Friday night. That opened the door to some big offensive innings for the Sharks, which included a six-run second and four-run fourth.

A bright spot for the Bulldogs was the offense. Freshman Alexis “Louie” Ross belted a two-run shot, her third of the season. Senior Jamie Ross went 3-for-4 with a double and junior Allie Hare went 3-for-4 with a double.

The Bulldogs host Cypress Lake Thursday.
