Bonita Bay Celebrity Tennis Day set to swing into action
The second annual Bonita Bay Celebrity Tennis Day takes place this Saturday, March 7. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Barbara’s Friends – The Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund and an expansion of the pediatric pharmacy at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

Lending their time and talents to the cause will be a number of World Class tennis professionals.
Scheduled to appear on Saturday are:
* Jimmy Arias – One of the world’s top players in the in the 1980s and 1990s and has a number of titles to his credit.
* Amy Alcini – Holds five USTA National Tennis titles and was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. by the USTA in 2000. She also competed on the 2003 US National World Cup team.
* Eddie Dibbs – A top 10 player for over 10 consecutive years.
* Colin Dibley – One of the world’s fastest servers at 148 mph. During his career he won four singles and seventeen doubles tournaments. He was ranked No. 35 in the world in 1973.
* Don Johnson – No. 1 doubles player in 2001. He has 23 doubles titles to his credit and was a former US Open champion.
* Johan Kriek – 14 singles titles and eight doubles titles to his credit. He also finished in the top 20 ranking for six consecutive years from 1980-1985.
* Tim Mayotte – No. 3 ranked player in the world in the 1980s. He has 12 singles titles to his credit. He was also a Silver Metalist at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Korea.
* Dave Macpherson – Was a top 10 doubles player in the world and has 10 doubles titles to his credit. He was also the tennis coach for the Bryan brothers.
* Jared Palmer – Won 28 doubles titles and one singles title in his tennis career. His victories include winning the Australian Open doubles championship in 1995, and the doubles championship at Wimbledon in 2001. He was ranked world’s No. 1 doubles player in 2000.
