The Florida Firecats of the arenafootball2 league have added eight linemen to their 2009 training camp roster.
Combining size and athleticism, the group of newcomers tips the scales with an average height and weight of 6-foot-5 and 323 pounds.
“Arena football starts up front. We made a point to get bigger on the line this season,” Firecats coach Kevin Bouis said of the players who will battle in the trenches in the upcoming season. “We’ll have a good mix of experience and young talent on both sides of the ball.”
Newcomers include: Chandler “Goose” Blakely (6-2, 320) of Stillman College; Larry Brown (6-2, 289) of UCF; Marcel Burrough (6-6, 335) of San Jose State; Johnathan Harper (6-3, 315) of Murray State; Tim Johnson (6-9, 390) of Albany State; Mark Robinson (6-3, 284) of East Carolina; Christopher Sanderson (6-7, 300) of ConcordiaSt Paul; Chris Scanzano (6-5, 290) of Long Island University-CW Post; and Arthur Smith (6-7, 385) of Grambling State.
