The North Fort Myers Red Knights put four runs on the board in the first inning, but surrendered eight unanswered runs in a 12-7 loss to Fort Myers Tuesday night in the Cape Coral Early Bird Tournament at Terry Park.

John Kohlhauff had a double and led a consistent offense for the Green Wave. The Red Knights finished with 12 hits, including a double by Ivan Melendez.

North (1-1) plays again Friday in the Early Bird Tournament.

North Fort Myers 3, Barron Collier 2: Katrissa Rowell drove in the tying runs in the fourth inning and Mariah Fernandez lofted a sacrifice fly in the fifth to plate the winning run in North Fort Myers’ District 5A-15 win over Barron Collier.

Jackie Owen doubled in the fourth inning ahead of Rowell’s two-run single. Jasmine Santiago scored the winning run from third on the sac-fly.

North (3-0) is at Cape Coral Thursday for another district game.

Bishop Verot 7, LaBelle 0: Hailey Baracco doubled twice and stole two bases while Jordan Hendrix clubbed a two-run home run to power Bishop Verot to a shutout victory over LaBelle.

Baracco (2-1) was the winning pitcher, surrendering four hits and striking out 12.

The Vikings (2-1) host North Fort Myers Friday at Fleishman Park.
