Prep Report: Verot shoots down Collier 55-46

Bishop Verot found the range from three-point land in the second half Tuesday night to turn a seven-point halftime deficit into a 55-46 victory at Barron Collier.

Brennan Melvin led the way for the Vikings with 24 points, including four three-pointers. He also had 13 rebounds and seven assists.

The Vikings, who played “flat” in the first half, cashed in seven threes to outscore the Cougars 41-15 in the second half. Etienne Effenberg chipped in with 16 points and Jacquard Hagan added 10.

Brian Landers led the Cougars (13-4) with 20 points.

Verot (11-6) hosts Cardinal Mooney Friday night.
