FGCU rallies to top ETSU 64-61

Reggie Chambers had 14 points, including a three-point play with 35.8 seconds left, as Florida Gulf Coast University rallied for a 64-61 victory over East Tennessee State Monday night at Alico Arena.

Chambers’ three-point play came after he went coast-to-coast after a steal. The play gave FGCU (8-10, 4-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) a 62-61 advantage, just its second lead of the game.

Delvin Franklin, who led the Eagles with 18 points, added two free throws with 1.7 seconds left.

Reed Baker had 12 points and seven steals for the Eagles.

Jarvis Jones and Kevin Tiggs had 13 points for the Buccaneers (11-5, 5-1). Mike Smith and Courtney Pigram added 10 each.

With Smith hitting a couple of three-pointers, East Tennessee State took an early 16-8 lead.

The Buccaneers had six three-pointers in the first half for a 30-22 halftime lead.
