Bradley tops FGCU 58-54

Theron Wilson and Sam Maniscalco scored 13 points each and Bradley held off Florida Gulf Coast University 58-54 Tuesday night.

Will Egolf had a key basket and steal, then made two free throws with 7.1 seconds left to clinch the game for the Braves (2-2) in the O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic.

Reggie Chambers scored 13 points for Florida Gulf Coast (1-3) while Kyle Marks, Derrick O’Neil and Reed Baker added 11 points each.

Trailing 49-47, the Eagles had five chances to tie or take the lead, but missed four shots and had a turnover.

In the first half, the Eagles led 30-23, but went scoreless for the last 3:35 of the period. Bradley cut the lead to 30-28 at halftime.

Bradley’s 19-4 run at the end of the first and start of the second half gave the Braves a 42-34 lead. The Eagles had just one field goal in a 10:16 span.

Jarhon Giddings led a balanced scoring attack with 20 points as Richmond beat Missouri-Kansas City 85-74 in the first game at Alico Arena.

The Spiders (3-1) hit 74.1 percent (20 of 27) of its shots in the second half, and 68.6 percent (35 of 51) for the game.

David Gonzalvez added 14 points and Kevin Anderson scored 12 for Richmond.
