Joe Johnson was all the offense the Ida Baker Bulldogs needed Friday night against Cypress Lake. Johnson converted a goal in the first half off an assist from Nick Presti to put the Bulldogs in front.

Cypress countered with a tying goal and it looked like the teams would have to settle for a 1-1 tie, but the Bulldogs came away with a 2-1 victory.

Johnson broke free in the middle of the field with about two minutes remaining and was tripped up as he entered the penalty. Johnson converted the ensuing penalty kick to win it.

Bulldogs goalkeeper Jose Zuniga made eight saves to preserve the win.

Baker (4-2) hosts Gulf Coast Dec. 2.
