Dunbar extends season, outlasts Lely 39-30
Dunbar used its team speed to its advantage against the size of Naples Lely to win a back-and-forth battle with the Trojans Friday night. The Tigers, who had their undefeated season spoiled last week, bounced back to knock off Lely 39-30 in a Region 3A-4 quarterfinals game.
Dunbar (10-1) travels to Naples to face the Eagles (10-1) in the regional semifinal next Friday night.
Charlotte 41, Fort Myers 7: Turnovers proved costly for the Green Wave, who saw their season come to an end with a Region 5A-3 quarterfinals loss to Charlotte.
Naples 61, Riverdale 23: Naples broke the game open late in the first half and overpowered Riverdale in the Region 3A-4 quarterfinals. The Eagles will host Dunbar in the regional semifinals next Friday.
Fort Meade 26, Evangelical Christian 7: Fort Meade jumped in front early, led 12-7 at halftime and breezed to a Region A-3 semifinal victory over Evangelical Christian.
