Riverdale snatched a potential victory away from North Fort Myers Friday night, completing two fourth-down conversions and scoring the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter for a 29-25 victory.
The Red Knights (2-3) took the lead 25-22 on a 10-yard pass from Mike Nelson to Tre Boston, but were unable to hold the lead.
Riverdale (4-1) answered when Nathan Gahafer hooked up with Dustin Greenwell, finishing off a back-and-forth affair.
“It was a real physical game from the start and back and forth,” Red Knights coach Barry Goettemoeller said. “Kids making big hits and big plays, the whole game was like that.”
Boston finished with two touchdown receptions for North, including a 70-yarder from Jose Feliciano.
Mike Becker also found the end zone for the Red Knights.
North travels to Golden Gate next Friday.
