Volleyball Bulldogs fall 3-0

Ida Baker opened the volleyball season on its home court Wednesday night, but victory proved elusive against Palmetto Ridge of Naples. While competitive throughout, the Bulldogs lost in a straight set 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

Chelsea Shafer led the Bulldogs with 20 kills to go with five digs. She was backed by Caitlin Holloway with 12 kills. Deonnah Findley delivered 20 assists while Chelsea Cline served up three aces and Taylor Van Horn contributed five digs.

The Bulldogs play at East Lee County Thursday night.

Swimming

At Cypress Lake: It was a night of setting school records for Oasis High School, which was participating in its inaugural sports event of any kind.

Julie Harper was the first Oasis swimmer to compete in a tri-meet. Oasis placed third with 15 points behind South Fort Myers (156 points) and Seacrest (44).

Matthew Perdomo, the only male swimmer for Oasis, earned six points to place third behind South Fort Myers (152) and Seacrest (57).

Boys Golf

At Gateway Golf Club: Chase Marinell claimed medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 34, but Bishop Verot still lost to Barron Collier 148-158 Wednesday. Verot also got a round of 39 from Steven Reynolds.

The Vikings (0-1) play South Fort Myers Thursday at Plantation.
