Cape Coral BMX Track was represented by 63 riders competing in the 2008 State Championship races held last weekend, with 13 of those riders winning first-place torphies, which is more than any of the other 23 tracks in Florida.

Shin chooses charity
BRASELTON, Ga. — Because of her participation in the ninth annual Thunderbird International Junior golf tournament this weekend, Michelle Shin of Cape Coral was asked to designate a charity to receive a $1,000 donation from the Phoenix-based civic organization.
Shin chose the Invisible Children of Uganda as recipient.
It is estimated that 50 charities will receive a combined $50,000 from Thunderbird International, which has distributed more than $200,000 worldwide over the past five years.
Each year, the American Junior Golf Association gathers the world’s top juniors in Phoenix at Grayhawk Golf Club for the Thunderbird International Junior during Memorial Day Weekend.
