Artist’s works to dress up Shark Stadium

MIAMI BEACH (AP) – The walls of Land Shark Stadium soon will be a little brighter.

Miami Dolphins executives said Friday night that pop artist Romero Britto will hang his works around the stadium’s entrances and gate areas.

The artist is well known in South Florida for his bold, colorful works in his signature reds, blues and yellows.

Some of the art will be unveiled for the Dolphins’ first regular-season home game Sept. 21, but the whole project will take three years.

Team executives announced the project Friday during a party on South Beach, where cheerleaders planned a fashion and swimsuit show.

The revamped Dolphins have a new owner in Stephen Ross, who bought the team from Wayne Hiuzenga. Latin music stars Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan and her husband are minority owners.
