Baker seals FGCU victory
Derrick O’Neil had 17 points, including a go-ahead layup with 26 seconds remaining to lift Florida Gulf Coast to a 76-73 victory over Lipscomb.
Down 73-71 with 32 seconds left, FGCU’s Reggie Chambers split his free throws and Chambers grabbed his 12th rebound (sixth offensive board) of the game on the miss. O’Neil got the ball back in the same posession to put the Eagles (10-15, 6-8 Atlantic Sun Conference) back in the lead.
Michael Lusk missed a shot with 13 seconds left, and turned the ball over with two seconds to go after a Lipscomb (8-13, 4-8) offensive rebound. Reed Baker (23 points) hit two free throws with one second left, sealing the game for the Eagles.
