Gators roll over Georgia 83-57

Nick Calathes had the second triple-double of his career, finishing with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, and Florida thumped Georgia 83-57 Wednesday night.

Alex Tyus had 18 points and Chandler Parsons added 12 for the Gators (18-3, 5-1 Southeastern Conference), who extended their winning streak against the Bulldogs to 11 games and handed Georgia its seventh consecutive loss this season.

Calathes, the conference’s freshman of the year last season, proved to be the toughest matchup for the Dawgs (9-11, 0-5). He drove past Georgia’s guards all night, getting open shots for himself and creating easy baskets for teammates. He got the triple-double on an fast-break pass to Parsons with 4:29 remaining.

Corey Butler and Howard Thompkins led Georgia with 10 points apiece.

Florida plays at Tennessee Saturday, hoping for much different results.

Campbell 78, Florida Gulf Coast 62: Jonathan Rodriguez scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Campbell over Florida Gulf Coast.

It is the sixth double-double of the season for Rodriguez, who was the only player in double-digit scoring for the Camels (8-12, 5-6 Atlantic Sun Conference). Lorne Merthie scored all of his nine points for beyind the arc, going 3-for-3. Junard Hartley dished out eight assists.

Kyle Marks and Chad Lutkenhaus led the Eagles (9-14, 5-7) with 12 points apiece.

Louisville 80, South Florida 54: Edgar Sosa scored 16 points, Samardo Samuels had 14 and Earl Clark added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals.
