Smith led the Viking offense to a 39-0 win over rival Cardinal Mooney in Verot’s opening-round playoff match-up. The quarterback threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns, adding 88 rushing yards.

“I was excited going into the game, it’s always good to play your rival. There was nothing I really did different mentally — just honed in, put 40 up and then go.”

Gargiula netted seven goals and added two assists in her first two matches for an undefeated Lady Vikings squad.

“I think we’re going to be great this year. The way that we’re starting off is going to really set the tone. The coaches are doing a great job with setting us all up correctly. Hopefully we keep the winning streak going.”
