Showcase at Dixie Roadhouse
The public is invited to attend the first-ever Cape Coral Construction Industry Association Contractors Showcase where they can learn about the capabilities and services available from an array of companies doing business in Lee County.
The event, presented by and held at Dixie Roadhouse, 1023 S.E. 47th Terrace, in downtown Cape Coral, is Thursday, Sept. 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration is $20 before the date of the event and $30 at the door, which include a chance to win raffle prizes. Lee County Community Development
issues August permit report
During August, contractors pulled 81 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at nearly $18.5 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 94 permits issued in July and 85 issued in August 2014, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Also during August, 136 multi-family units collectively valued at more than $10.7 million were permitted, compared to 62 in July and 12 in August 2014. The multi-family permitting included 120 units at Estero Oaks, near the intersection of Estero Parkway and Three Oaks Parkway.
General commercial activity was valued at about $11.9 million for 18 permits, compared to $1.7 million in July and about $7.2 million in August 2014. The most recent month includes a permit for an $8 million clubhouse on On Par Boulevard in the Shellpoint Retirement Community.
Lee County Community Development issued 3,932 permits of all kinds in August.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

GATES starts construction
at Island Country Club
GATES Construction has started work on a major renovation project at Island Country Club, a Southwest Florida’s member-owned private country club. Located on Marco Island, the project involves a complete floor to ceiling kitchen renovation and remodel.
Designed by Humphrey Rosal Architects, the project is slated for completion in October.
