Yacht Club plan is a disaster
To the editor:
The Yacht Club issue has become a disaster. As Councilmember Tate states, “this building has memories.” As one of the oldest buildings in Cape Coral, just do the upgrades that are needed. This current building has survived numerous storms with minimal damage. I’ve been here 30 years and that building was here before that. Whoever built that building did it right. As an old saying states, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
As for the three-story parking garage, that’s insane unless the city has an idea to charge yearly rental fees for space, maybe to boat residents who chose to live on their boat. This garage would also call for an elevator, another expense.
No matter how you look at it, it’s still a large expense that will grow larger. Next will be the local residents complaining about the increased traffic on Coronado Boulevard.
Who is going to run the fuel dock?
Remember, you can’t make a yacht from a rowboat.
