Remember the ‘Good Old Days’?

By Staff | May 13, 2022

To the editor:

Can you remember when the price of a gallon of gas was $2.11? How about when a pound of bacon was $5.75 (not on sale), and you could buy a nice, modest three-bedroom home in Florida for about $200,000?

Those “good old days” were just a little over a year ago.

April 25, 2022, that gallon of gas costs $4.516. That pound of bacon in February of 2022 was $7.09 (not on sale), and that $200,000 home was 25.65 percent higher in just the last year, putting it at $251,300.

The only way to stop Biden from bankrupting our country and everyone in it is to shut down the Democrats at the polls in November. We must take back the House and the Senate in order to stop this unmitigated disaster from any further destruction, until he’s finally drummed out of office. It’s incredible that his poll numbers on April 28 show 22 percent strongly approving and 48 percent strongly disapproving of Biden’s performance.

What performance has he delivered that anyone could possibly approve of? Inflation is killing the middle and lower classes of our economy; crime has gone unchecked; our border is a sieve for human trafficking, terrorists and drugs; our “assistance” to Ukraine is not helping Ukrainians and, your president, Joe Biden, is still taking bows for his release of 1 million barrels a day from the SPR, which has done absolutely nothing, again. Out to lunch? I wish!
