Governance via executive order is not democracy

By Staff | Nov 18, 2021

To the editor:

Executive privilege is out of order. Biden is mandating all workers of employers over 100 to have vaccinations with fines of $14,000 per unvaccinated employee. But somewhere between 1 and 3 million (no one knows how many get through without being detained) immigrants who have come here contrary to our immigration laws are being released in this country this year without even being tested. So those who have come here illegally have more freedom than American citizens?

In addition, Biden wants to give $450,000 payments to immigrants who were part of family separations during the Trump administration. I don’t know of any such payment being made to U.S. citizens for anything. Of course it isn’t Biden’s money that is being given. It is ours.

What about the horrible family conditions since Biden opened up the borders? Some facilities designed to hold a few hundred people had a few thousand cramped in a very small space with the usual problems of hygiene, separation and food.

Several sources claim that people from more than 150 countries are coming in through the southern border. There is no way to vet them (how many are terrorists or criminals?) or know if they are infected with COVID-19.

According to the recent elections, these actions are not acceptable to a vast majority of citizens in this country. Is this democracy when a single person can break the law by allowing innumerable individuals who come here contrary to our laws to invade America?
