Majestic equality
To the editor:
Anatole France (1844) once said, “The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.” Congratulations to Mayor John Gunter and the City Council of Cape Coral, who have elaborated France’s dictum to include begging on the median and fishing under the bridge.
My how proud we Floridians should be of this brave expansion of jurisprudence and civilization.
