To the editor:

Regarding the letter to the editor, “Plea to the new CCPD chief: Please address speeders, loud exhausts.”

I totally agree with this Cape Coral resident. I have been living in the northwest Cape for more than five years and I have called the police department till I was blue in the face and a day later the speeders come back, especially the loud motorcycles driving over a hundred miles an hour down Diplomat Parkway West.

In those five years, three people have died within half a mile of my house on Diplomat Parkway West. Maybe the new police chief can get his patrol officers off their butt and how they’re writing speeding tickets, but I highly doubt that will happen. I have never seen a police officer pulling somebody over in our area, issuing a speeding ticket.

Maybe this article is worth repeating on the front page of The Breeze.
