Political race to the bottom
To the editor:
Politics — of any stripe at all — is based on unverified, unverifiable opinions.
Thus, the game of politics is necessarily played in a bottomless, muddy swamp — though one can generally not fault the Pols in their mighty efforts to reach a bottom!
Blindly entrusting the leadership of a nation to elected Pols is risky indeed, even when the elections are in the hands of a highly knowledgeable, competent Electorate. The Pols’ job (as they see it) is to manipulate future events to fall in favor of their patrons — those who fostered their election — not in favor of the nation as a whole.
Elections and greed are the weak links in Democracy.
Democracy simply can not work given what we have to operate with!!!
