Sorry for America

By Staff | Apr 8, 2021

To the editor:

With the immigration crisis and this $2.5 trillion infrastructure plan and tax bill, I am hearing the same rhetoric from politicians and media.

We are told we should welcome and help everyone that comes to this country illegally and yet the people that come here legally have get behind them and wait in line.

The government also says we have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have a work ethic.

I’m tired of being told the government should tax more of the money that I earned and give it to people who are not willing to work for it as I had to do.

Congress has repeatedly punted on passing comprehensive immigration reform. The Infrastructure Bill is too expensive. Less that 25% of the money in this bill is actually going to roads, bridges and infrastructure.

We are being told we must lower our living standards to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I’m tired of being told drug addicts and the homeless have a disease, that rioters are peaceful protesters and that I must help support them and also pay for the damages they do to other people’s property and provide payment for things in which neither I nor my family took part.

I’m sick of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers, and politicians of both parties talking about and being apologetic for the mistakes they made, when we all know they really think their only mistake was getting caught.

I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I’m real tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions and blame others.

I wish the media on both sides would be more diversified and print the news or events without slanting it their way or not reporting it at all.

I’m glad to be 69 years old because, mostly, I’m not going to have to see the world these people are making.

I’m just really sorry for my grandchildren and the future of America.
