Thank you, veterans

To the editor:

As a nation we should honor our Veterans, not only on this Veterans Day, but everyday each citizen enjoys our nation’s protected freedoms. As a veteran these heroes wrote a blank check made payable to, “The United States of America” “for an amount” “up to and including their life.” That is an honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

In these times of political divisiveness and movements in that attempt to tear apart these freedoms and destroy our nation, one constant remains. The constant being that of the “NO GREATER LOVE” sacrifices from our past and present veterans.

It is not the politicians or divisive movements that give or gave us our freedoms. It is and was the sacrifices of our most honored heroes who chose to carry and keep the torch of freedom burning through their “No Greater Love” sacrifices for every citizen of this nation. These heroes chose through the years to follow the mantra of repeating, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.”

Unfortunately again, there are far too many in our nation who follow the false idols produced by some political and divisive movements. Today and everyday, let all of us as a nation honor our true heroes, our VETERANS.

God Bless You in honoring my true heroes, our Veterans, on this Veterans Day.
