To the editor:

I am a crisis social worker. In the past few months, I have had family friends get sick from COVID, friends die of COVID, co-workers get sick and clients die of COVID. I listen to our nurses and doctors and I wear my mask and wash my hands. I maintain social distance. It is my ethical duty to protect others.

Trump, however, has shown inability and poor leadership and judgment in protecting the U.S. from such threats. During the transition in 2016, he was briefed by the Obama/Biden administration that the U.S. could face another potential pandemic like Ebola. The Obama/Biden administration had set up the Pandemic Team to stop Ebola from spreading across the globe according to White House archives.

Trump in his arrogance chose to disband the Pandemic Team.

I beg all of you to vote for Biden. Our health, the well-being of our economy, and family/friends are at stake.
