Batos will listen to the people

By Staff | Jul 30, 2020

To the editor:

Citizens have the ability to vote for three County Commission seats. The first vote is the Aug, 18 primary.

North Fort Myers has a large development being built on Pritchett Parkway. Two other parcels have been rezoned against the wishes of the surrounding community on Slater and Rich Road for multi family and a gated community.

Despite citizens pleading to keep their rural community per the current Lee County Development Code only Frank Mann sided with the citizen’s pleas to protect the water supply, prevent flooding and stop increased traffic these developments will create. We NEED representation. We are not allowed to contact our commissioners regarding our opinions on rezoning.

Please vote Nick Batos who sides with the citizens’ rights to plan their community rather than having Commissioners who side with developers despite Lee County’s current codes. Developers are not even being charged full impact fees so the citizens have to pay for the undesired growth that requires roads, schools and infrastructure. North Fort Myers also has the risk of having mines in our backyards due to the current commissioners (excluding Frank Mann) voting for mining changes.

Please help protect your community of Slater and Bayshore. Vote Batos and Mann. Call for a vote by mail ballot by Aug. 8. 533-8683 or Lee.vote
