City and residents should look down the road
To the editor:
All the undeveloped residential lots along the Burnt Store Road widening are going to remain just that, undeveloped! Nobody is going to want a six-lane highway 90 feet from the back of their home!
This, in my opinion, will lead to stagnant or lower property values in the northwest Cape. Also, loss of tax revenue, (in the hundreds of thousands of dollars) annually for the city.
A buffer needs to be incorporated into the widening of the road! There is an easement that runs along most of the project that could be used for this purpose!
The city needs to keep its residents safe and that will encourage more growth in our section of the city.
