What is the state of Cape Coral?
To the editor:
The mayor of Cape Coral, Marni Sawicki, thinks every thing is great in the Cape – or is it?
The mayor thinks it’s great that the voters gave her a raise but it was the low turn out election – a part she left out – and most of the people who voted were city employees. We need to change elections to years when most people turn out so we can get a true vote of what the people think.
Also, the mayor left out the fact we have a new tax on our electric bills thanks to our city manager and the fire assessment, a tax increase she didn’t say anything about in her State of Cape Coral Address.
Her Obama-type government is not working in the Cape and the Bimini Basin plan is going to cost millions. Who is going to pay for it – the taxpayers and it will not benefit most of the residents of this city.
We need a big change in this city and it needs to start with election process.
Unions have too much to say and residents have no say.
