Annual ‘stand down’ for homeless veterans set for Saturday

1 min read

To the editor:

I want to thank everyone who came to our first chapel service in the Hall of Honor at the foundation. There was about 40 veterans and their families in attendance. I pray that God will bless you all for your faithfulness.

Please be aware that a “stand down,” our veterans annual homeless outreach, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 23, at the City of Palms baseball stadium at 2201 Edison Ave. in Fort Myers. All clothing and socks, shoes and sneakers in good condition will be greatly appreciated. Blankets are also greatly appreciated by our veterans living in the woods or abandoned buildings. Soaps, shampoos and lotions as well as disposable razors are also needed.

Please do not give anything that is dirty and soiled or with tears and holes. We want to honor these men and women with our kindness.

Please bring your donations to my office at the Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation office, 4820 Leonard St., Cape Coral.

Appreciatively
