What’s the deal with the ‘speed bumps?’

I would really like to know what is going with our mayor, the Honorable Marni Sawicki. While she is a “part-time mayor” with a “part-time city council,” the rest of the city has full-time citizens and full- time problems.
Case is point is the recent road improvement projects going on in various places throughout the city. While the upgrades are welcome, some of the roads come to a sudden end with their new surface and, in some places like Northwest 18th Avenue, El Dorado on Kismet and Nelson and Diplomat going north, are elevated above the old road. As a result, motorists have a bone-jarring (never mind the stresses on the vehicle) experience hitting these elevated portions of the road, and dropping off on the other end.
I had been in contact with city hall about this particular stretch for almost two months, with the “promise” that my complaint was being forwarded. The mayor, and Councilman Williams, Sixth District, have long ago stopped answering (Williams never) my phone inquiries and emails.
Right up the street on Chiquita and Kismet workers finished with a new surface on Tuesday. The street there seamlessly intersects without any residual effect on the vehicle or the driver, while just a few feet away the mid-intersection is a moonscape. But less than a quarter mile west on Kismet, if you are going more than 30, there is just a sign that, I assume, addresses the problem of the speed bump.
This is intolerable.
Whomever gave the go ahead to open this road and other resurfaced roads like this obviously does not live in the area (including, of course, Mayor Sawicki and Councilman Williams). Otherwise this would not have occurred in the first place.
