Kudos to the CCPD
To the editor:
On Saturday, the tornado ripped through a portion of Southwest Cape Coral. I, fortunately, was not affected due to being a few streets away from the Pelican ball fields. We, however did lose electricity. A little after the tornado was over, the Cape Coral Police Department drove through the neighborhood checking on proper generator operation, damage to homes and looking for any injuries. The next day, a friend of ours came to check on us because the phones were down. While she was here, my daughter called CCPD from Delaware to inquire about us. My wife has severe asthma, thus CCPD sent an officer to check on us and let us know to call our daughter.
CCPD went above and beyond during this crisis, checking on everyone and especially us.
