They’ve lost their focus
To the editor:
It appears that the President, the Congress, many babbling elected officials and the media have all lost their focus. They either don’t care about the principle purpose of their job or they are too thick to understand the importance of the position.
Sure, political correctness has its place. And certainly no one wants to offend someone’s religious beliefs. And, no doubt, America has always welcomed immigrants to our shores.
But that was then and this is now.
This is a time when America faces a threat we have never before experienced. American lives are at stake and the No. 1 job of every elected official, far more important than any other consideration, is the protection of our people. It’s not the renaming of a mountain, or the attacking of a football team for calling themselves the Redskins, or the claiming that the lack of climate control is the reason why mad men are murdering Americans.
Let’s understand one another – the job is to provide a safe haven for Americans and absolutely nothing else even comes close to this responsibility. Today Americans don’t feel safe, time and again we’ve seen good people murdered and we insist that officials, starting with the president, stop playing, stop the “political correct” crap, stop lying to us, and do your jobs.
In short, we’re fed up with your meaningless chatter and we want MEANINGFUL results! The bottom line is if you can’t or you won’t fix this problem then it’s time to put on your big boy pants and resign. Your job and absolute responsibility is to protect Americans and we expect nothing less!
