City mismanagement & LCEC
To the editor:
Questions need to be asked as to why the city of Cape Coral is looking to municipalize instead of renewing the franchise with Lee County Electric Cooperative. Don’t they already have their hands full with other more important issues than raising taxes, on electric bills on their citizens? Is this another excuse or easy way to get more money from their citizens? Do other cities bother with such procurements ? No!
Poor planning and regressive taxation has always been Cape Coral’s downfall. Taxpayers have been held accountable for bad city management for over a decade, paying up to four or five times more than other cities through out Florida for a water.
City management needs to concentrate on large, soft light industry and or a school, college and museum to support prosperous economic growth without further regressive taxation pushed onto its citizens.
State, federal funding and grants are available for these institutions,
This also includes any infrastructure for roads or sewer projects.
Is it legal to shill a tax assessment 65 percent in one year?
Or price gouge on water assessments?
All past and current city administrations are to blame for defaulting on positive economic growth, and poor city planning. A lack of respect and neglect for their citizens reflects these current issues.
