Your vote can make a difference
To the editor
In Cape Coral, the current administration counts on people not getting out to vote. They will get a certain number of votes for the candidates they choose for their own purposes. Unfortunately, they can also count on a shamefully low voter turnout which will not be enough to counteract the votes of their “chosen ones”.
Candidates Kirk LaGrasta and Chris Cammarota have been out knocking on doors, and several of us have been helping them. There is the occasional exception, but the people I talk to are mostly very unhappy with their current representation in the City Council.
There are numerous concerns, not the least of which is the city’s interest in purchasing LCEC, which has provided excellent service at very competitive rates.
Three City Council seats are up for grabs in this election. Candidates Kirk LaGrasta and Chris Cammarota will represent all of us, and I feel that Tim Barrier will as well.
Please get out to vote! Whether you go to the polls on Nov. 3, take advantage of early voting, or vote absentee, you have the opportunity to send a loud and clear message to our city administration that you are tired of endless taxing and wasteful spending.
