Exercise your right to vote
To the editor:
Since I have been knocking on doors since January for my campaign for city council District 3 in Cape Coral, one question keeps popping up from residents. Can I vote outside my district? The answer is most definitely “Yes, you can”!!!
Cape Coral voters need to know this. It does not matter where you live in the Cape, as long as you are a registered voter and live in Cape Coral you can vote for any district.
Currently we have races in Districts 2, 3, and 7. Cape Coral voters need to get out and vote, please do not think your vote does not matter. History is full of make-or-break decisions that have been decided by one vote. Did you know the draft of 1940 passed Congress by one vote? The impeachment of our 17th president Andrew Johnson failed by one vote in the Senate.
My point is, we have been blessed with this unique gift, it is our civic responsibility to use this God-given right each and every election day.As a veteran, I cherish this right like no other, I ask my fellow citizens of this beautiful city to utilize this right during this electoral process.
