Support for the cause – and kindness – appreciated
To the editor:
I was showing my free Cuba signs at the corner of Colonial Boulevard and Summerlin Road today, Sept. 24, at about 8:45 a.m. when a nice lady came up and gave me a McDonald’s arches gift card. She said that I could go in and have something when I finished. At first l refused the card and suggested that others might need it more than I. Then she said that she wanted me to have the card and to thank me for what I was doing. Suddenly I realized that she was doing something great and I must step up, receive this, allowing her to serve me. I thanked her three times, and I received it graciously.
This brought a tear to my eyes. Even now, writing, this brings tears.
I will always appreciate what this nice lady did and I certainly hope it brought her some joy.
Myself, perhaps I will make this an outing. A Saturday at the arches. Thank you very much.
