Thank a cop

2 min read

To the editor:

As I watch the evening news and see the attacks upon the police in this country, I must comment. I am so sick of the progressive element in this country demonizing the men and women who are our only defense against the criminal element and anarchy in the United States today. Some thug breaks the law, the police are called and respond and are attacked. They defend themselves and take out the criminal and then are chastised for doing their job.

May I suggest to those who are doing wrong: Whatever happens to you is your fault. You are breaking the law. When you are confronted by the police, do what they say.

And to those who are out there using any excuse to destroy and get free stuff, there are legal ways and non-violent ways to protest.

I am sick of political correctness and the race card.

From now on, when I see a police officer, I will go up to them, like I do when I see someone serving in our military, and thank them for their service to this country. God bless them. I can’t imagine having to deal with the idiots out there every day. Doubly troubling, is to make an arrest and have no one step forward to testify. Yet, these same cowards will complain about the crime in their neighborhoods.

Finally, the worse of offenders is the media. In their zeal for the sensational, they will always present the emotional aspect of an event without taking the time to be objective. God forgive you for misleading the public for sensationalism. God bless and keep safe our law enforcement.
