Ashamed to be a New Yorker
To the editor:
New York Mayor de Blasio might just as well have pulled the trigger and murdered the two city policemen himself. As some are claiming, it’s possible that the gunman was a deranged severely disturbed individual. However, someone had to light the fuse that triggered this repulsive act and here is where the criminality lies.
This despicable Mayor, for obscene political reasons, chose to place 35,000 New York City policemen in danger by painting the police force with one broad brush, claiming that the police are out of control in New York and beyond, and needed retraining. This “nut,” even after the grand juries exonerated those charged with illegal behavior, stood before microphones and sympathized with demonstrators who were out of control. From agitators like Al Sharpton we expect this kind of conduct, inciting riots is the only way Sharpton can remain relevant and he will do anything, use any body, destroy everything all for his own personal gain. But for the Mayor of New York to turn his back on his police force and place these men and women in harms way, this is beyond the pale and tantamount to a level of viscous insanity.
Let’s be clear:?The blood of these public servants is on the filthy hands of Mayor de Blasio and every person who criticizes the police and sympathizes with the lawless!
Mr. Mayor, if you are man enough to accept the responsibility for these deaths you need to apologize to the families, and the police, and the law-biding citizens of New York. You need to turn your salary, for the remainder of your term in office, over to the affected families. And, in the future you need to keep your dopey mouth shut. Anything less will be unacceptable and cause everyone to view you as being nothing short of a dumb jackass.
Oh yes, if you decline doing the right thing, the next time you feel threatened we suggest that you, instead of calling the police, call your pal Al Sharpton.
I for one, along with millions of Americans, respect the police, appreciate the difficult job they do, and stand with them against all adversity. I wouldn’t be surprised if every city in America denounced your sickening behavior.
