To the editor:

On behalf of the officers and members of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), James D. Rader, Chapter 108 of Cape Coral, I wish to express our deep appreciation to the management and staff of the Cape Coral Golden Corral restaurant for hosting the annual Military Appreciation Monday on Monday, Nov. 17.

Golden Corral is a national partner with Disabled American Veterans (www.DAV.org) and over the course of the past 13 years has served over 4.1 million free “Thank-You” meals to veteran/heroes. During that same period, they have donated and facilitated the collection of over $8.7 million.

This year’s event in Cape Coral realized the serving of over 1,000 meals and collection of over $1,600. Since our Chapter has zero overhead, all of these money will go directly to the support of veterans and their families in the greater Cape Coral area.

I would especially like to thank Randy Miller, the franchisee, Scott Dwyer, restaurant manager, all of the wait and kitchen staff, and our Chapter volunteers who worked so diligently to make this an honorable and successful event.
