The $4 club makes another promise
To the editor:
Well, Council 5-3 voted to do another audit. The ratepayers, of course, will fund the cost. Wait, Mayor Sullivan said it should only cost about $4 a ratepayer. Remember when Council could not get the votes to restart the UEP, it was Councilmember Brandt who said it would cost only $4 for the ratepayers, so it shouldn’t hurt too much.
Great deal, wasn’t it. Looked at your water bills lately? Add another from the $4 club and we are off to the cleaners. But.when all is said and done, most of them will be on the beaches sipping and slapping each other on the back that they kept their campaign promises. This is why they came on board…. to set the record straight one way or the other no matter how much it costs the citizens who already paid their assessments and carry the freight for the luxury of water. They will either find out something went wrong, or nothing went wrong, and whether they can do something or nothing. Great….cost….another $200,000 to begin with. And.by the way, what assessment areas were they in??? Some day, in the future the $4 club will again tell us, it won’t cost much.
For information, in 1986 the cost for water in the orange area was $19 a month flat rate, no meters. Oh, for the good old golden years.
