Follow the money
To the editor:
Well, they have finally begun discussing a proposed link from I-75 to Cape Coral. Isn’t it amazing that a proposal that was put forward in 1990 is just now coming forth? They think this will help to populate the northern section of the Cape. But of course, it won’t be built until 2020. Duh, 30 years later it might come to fruition.
Even though Cape Coral has 162,000 residents, it is being pushed by Kitson & Partners of West Palm Beach because they have an investment in the planned 50,000 resident community of Babcock Ranch.
Wait a minute. Didn’t they (Our wise city fathers), say that we could not continue to expand because we would be unable to supply water for that area? Oh yes, that was because in their wisdom, they declined an offer for a free reverse osmosis plant because they thought the city could make all that money supplying our water. Wrong. Now they want residents who already have paid for dual water systems to pay for the $400 million plant they built because there aren’t enough new residents in the north Cape.
If all this sounds confusing, it is. What really matters is that we pay more taxes so they can continue their spending habits which have become honed to a fine art.
