Give Kuehn a chance
To the editor:
We all know that politics is inherently contentious. That it is natural for some who do not get their way to view the action taken as wrong or ignorant. But to question the integrity of the four members of the council who voted for Eric Kuehn, as several did, including one member on the dais, is troubling at the very least. New council member Kuehn had written numerous letters and spoke many times at city council meetings urging reduced and better control of spending public money. He also, like the four members of the council who voted for him, have raised questions on the city’s giving away of 170 acres of city land together with $27 million for the proposed swim center. It is natural and highly predictable that individuals in government will appoint those that think as they do. It would however, be more natural to question the interests of those who are so free with the spending of public money and giving away of city property, and critical of those that oppose their view.
