Public deserves more time
To the editor:
As a self-appointed community activist, (ambassador for the people) I need your help. If you believe that three minutes citizens input at city council meetings is not enough please contact your council representative. Shouldn’t each one of us be allowed at least five minutes? Are we not paying all the bills? What’s so sacred about three minutes? Don’t we deserve more impact.
Tell our elected officials to give each of us at least five minutes at every city council meeting, and put it in writing. Extending the total times at every meeting to 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes is a good start, however only three minutes per person is unacceptable. Agree? It’s mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Flex our muscles. E-mail, phone or fax our elected officials. Without your help, nothing will happen. Help me help you get more representation. Please? Thank you.
