Look to the Cape for our next city manager

What with our Cape Coral in search of another city manager to fill the seat of our recently resigned Terry Stewart, the wheels are turning to see who can and will fill the job most efficiently.
To my mind, the search should be made internally rather than nationally. We have many qualified persons in the ranks of our homebodies and that is where our council’s concentration for a replacement should remain.
Names? Here are a few. Top of the list to me would be Sal Grosso, followed by Arnold Kempe, Eric Feichthaler, Gary King, Alex LePera, Gloria Tate, Dolores Bertolini, Lynn Rosko, along with our present temporary city manager Carl Schwing, just to name a few.
The talent and city knowledge exists among this few alone, to save us our money in any unnecessary national search.
If belt tightening is to become the order of the day, this gesture by our new city council would be one of the most magnanimous in its nature, and a grand beginning.
